General Summary:
The Associate, Consumer Risk is responsible for origination characteristic analytics, trend tracking and monitoring for the purposes of controlling and managing credit risk. This position will also analyze historical portfolio performance to determine relationships and qualifiers between upstream buying decisions and downstream loan performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Analyze consumer portfolio origination trends and assess risk of those trends.
2. Perform objective qualitative credit application review to ensure sound underwriting buying structures in accordance with policies, procedures and risk appetite.
3. Assess portfolio to identify links among buying decisions, credit metrics, risk parameters and historical performance.
4. Produce PowerPoint presentations to support project conclusions.
5. Work with other departments as needed to support project objectives.
6. Perform ad-hoc analytics and all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changes
Self-directed and results oriented
Strong PC skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Basic data mining skills in either SAS or SQL
5 years of work experience, with 1-2 years in the consumer credit or risk field
Credit/Funding/Collections/Sales operations background a plus
Bachelor's degree required
Physical Requirements and Working Condition:
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.
