Our fast-growing law firm is seeking to add a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and client-focused Permanent Associate Attorney to our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate planning, probate law, and taxation law, with a specific focus on taxable estates. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, directly engage with clients, and play a significant role in shaping the future of our firm. This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Associate Attorney, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Providing comprehensive legal advice to clients regarding estate planning, probate law, and tax law matters.
2. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of legal documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents.
3. Representing clients in probate court and handling all aspects of probate administration.
4. Advising clients on tax implications of estate planning strategies and assisting with the preparation of estate and gift tax returns.
5. Conducting legal research and analysis to stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations.
6. Collaborating with other attorneys and staff to provide superior client service.
7. Participating in business development activities to expand the firm's client base.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Permanent Associate Attorney position, you must have:
1. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar.
3. A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Associate Attorney, with a focus on estate planning, probate law, and taxation law.
4. Extensive knowledge of the laws and regulations related to estate planning, probate, and taxation, particularly taxable estates.
5. Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
7. A high level of professionalism and a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
8. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. A strong desire to continuously learn and grow in your legal career.
10. An LLM in Taxation or Estate Planning and/or CA certified specialization in Taxation Law or Estate Planning and Probate Law is highly desired.
