What You'll Do in This Position
Develop conventional engineering, scientific, and quality assurance solutions to technical task objectives. Learn Westinghouse, WSRC, and specific Division/Department systems and requirements for accomplishing tasks. Assist more senior technical and quality engineering personnel in performing related activities in more complex tasks.
- Accept delegated technical responsibility for a limited phase or element of a technical or quality engineering program. Support engineers performing related work.
- Participate appropriately in group's assigned function and/or facility training.
- Assist in study, development, testing, and analysis of designs, processes, and procedures relating to a limited phase of a project or function.
- Organize and accept responsibility for the accuracy of limited technical and quality engineering analyses.
- Make technical and quality engineering calculations using standard techniques and procedures.
- May prepare project and task cost proposals in an assigned area.
- Assist in the preparation of quality assurance manuals, procedures, instructions, and reports.
- Conduct and report on surveillances, monitoring, assessments, and reviews of quality-related activities as assigned.
- Develop a working knowledge of organizations and management systems to facilitate CQF efficiency and service.
- Demonstrate total quality awareness through development and submittal of TQ Improvement suggestions.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. A college degree with quality assurance, quality control or engineering experience in the fields of operations, maintenance, construction or industrial manufacturing or experience in basic QA functions/activities or engineering-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility in an operations, maintenance, construction or manufacturing environment
