The Holcombe Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clemson University is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (Open Rank) in Computer Engineering. The Department has a particular interest in applicants with computer hardware research interests and expertise in areas including, but not limited to, electronic design automation (EDA), hardware security, hardware artificial intelligence, and/or related fields.
The Holcombe Department of ECE is one of the largest and most active departments at Clemson University, with 44 full-time faculty members, approximately 600 undergraduates, and 190 graduate students. Annual research expenditures exceed $13 million. Members of the faculty include five IEEE Fellows, four endowed chairs, and six named professors. The ECE department offers ABET-accredited B.S. programs in electrical engineering and Computer Engineering, along with M.S. and Ph.D. programs in both disciplines, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. programs in Photonic Science and Technology.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in VLSI, FPGA, and other related areas that are typically taught by faculty within the Computer Engineering Division of the Department. Specific desirable attributes for candidates include a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaborative research with faculty members within the department, across the university, and with industrial partners.
Qualifications
Applicants must have earned a doctorate in Computer Engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related field.
