Job Summary
The Assistant Wellness Director is responsible to direct daily functions of the residential health or assisted living unit/facility to meet resident needs and in accordance with current residential or assisted living Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for elder care, a strong understanding of business administration, and a commitment to providing quality care to our residents.
Responsibilities
· Develop, direct, implement, and evaluate unit/facility services and programs to enrich quality of resident life and meet clinical and psychosocial needs.
· Protect and ensure Resident’s Rights are observed and residents are free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
· Oversee and service the resident care provided; strive for deficiency free surveys. Assistant Wellness Director is accountable for resident care.
· Ensure adherence to the Corporate Compliance Program and Deficit Reduction Act and procedures. Disseminate and explain Corporate Compliance Program and Deficit Reduction Act to all staff and conduct regular staff in-services.
· Comply with and support Cottingham LLC Policies and Procedures and practices.
· Maintain confidentiality of resident and employee information as regulated by HIPPA.
· Work openly and efficiently with the Assisted Living Director concerning all aspects of service and programs.
· Develop, implement, and work within the annual budget.
· Maintain resident records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
· Manage and monitor unit/facility employees by effectively communicating policies, expected outcomes, efficient work routines/procedures and promote teamwork.
· Ensure employees meet licensure and certification requirements in accordance with state and federal regulations.
· Follow Cottingham LLC In-Service calendar to ensure all employees receive ongoing training as required by state and federal law and as needed for educational documentation.
· Ensure that safety protection programs are clearly outlined and that all personnel follow the program as it relates to fire prevention; safety ergonomics; hazardous chemical usage, disposal, and storage; updating and staff education in use of Disaster and MSDS manuals; and general maintenance safety procedures and devices. Report any contrary conditions to the Executive Director/Administrator and implement steps to correct problems.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
· Assist in-house physicians with resident appointments.
Qualifications
Valid/Active LPN license
· 5+ years of experience in Assisted Living performance preferred
· Strong understanding of laws and regulations related to assisted living communities
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
