Responsibilities
The position of Assistant Vice President is within the Expense Management & Analysis (EM&A) sub-department of the Fund Accounting & Operations department.
This resource will be responsible for managing data retrieval and analysis for EM&A. This individual will organize data points, working closely with IT, platform specialists, and relevant departments to determine needs, build dynamic self-service data portals, and suggest business process improvements. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in a project management or data visualization role, with a focus on financial data. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively and concisely in a complex, fast paced environment translating technology and business requirements in a polished manner for regular presentations to senior leadership.
Typical responsibilities include:
  • Serve as a representative of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Expense Allocation Group
  • Engage team to understand
    • workflows and business process
    • assigned tasks/deliverables
    • EM&A (Expense Management & Analysis) considerations
  • Partner with IT and Finance Operations to influence business solutions, application, tool development, integration, prioritization, and support from an EM&A lens
  • Partner with VPs and SVP to plan, manage, execute the various project workstreams
  • Aid in pre-work necessary for implementation of Workday Financials and Planning, aiding in the documentation of processes, simplifying processes, completing reconciliations, establishing data quality controls, and increasing access to datasets.
  • Implement Business Intelligence and analytics solutions
    • Contribute to projects that provide financial analysis to internal partners ensuring to synthesize complex information & datasets into clear takeaways and recommendations
    • Determine analytical needs of stakeholders and assess feasibility/usefulness/business value of data requests
    • Manage inbound data requests and convert them to clearly defined team projects with well-defined parameters and deliverables
    • Prioritize inbound requests to ensure focus is on value-added areas
    • Work with several large complex data sets and extract appropriate data into easy-to-understand presentations or dashboards which are easily repeatable and well documented for future use
    • Develop and execute a plan to prioritize self-service capabilities for teams including vendor metrics, spend trends, processing metrics, KPIs, and general access to large data sets

Qualifications
  • Have knowledge of 3 or more of the following: Python, SQL, BI tools (such as Tableau), or R
  • 9 years of management experience and bachelor's degree in a combination of the following:
    • Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field AND
    • Finance Services, Procurement, or Operational Accounting (including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fund Administration)
  • Advanced Expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to establish and communicate a vision, set goals, execute strategies, and track/measure results
  • Strategic mindset with demonstrated experience in implementing data frameworks and driving continuous improvement
  • Proven success in applying distribution analytics results to practical day-to-day business challenges
  • Expert communication skills and ability to influence leadership
  • Experience making sense of large volume of data
  • Plus: experience with Workday/ERP implementation or Alteryx

Education
Bachelor's degree required.
Base Salary Range
$120,000 - $150,000
In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement. The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
