Overview of Role
This is a new position in a recently created Deal Operations team that has been tasked with centralizing and standardizing the private deal workflow. The AVP position in Deal Operations will be responsible for private deal functions including pre-closing operations, deal closing settlement, and maintenance of investment accounting books and records. As this is a new team, this role also involves working with various stakeholders on key initiatives and identifying process improvement opportunities with the objective of centralizing and creating scale while minimizing operational risk.
Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Investment Team on private deal transactions by ensuring operational readiness upon closing
  • Processing all private deals accurately and timely onto Oaktree's accounting system
  • Ensuring settlement and closing of private deals
  • Assisting in cross-functional initiatives relating to the private deal workflow
  • Reporting KPIs to key stakeholders and analyzing trends
  • Proposing recommendations and working with various teams on process improvement initiatives
  • Coordinating with funds' independent auditors, custodians, prime brokers and fund administrators
  • Performing other tasks as required.

Experience Required
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant investment operations, fund accounting, or middle office experience
  • Strong knowledge of various asset classes
  • Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis
  • Experience with SQL, VBA, and PowerBI, is a plus

Education
A Bachelor's degree is required.
Base Salary Range
$130,000 - $155,000
In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement. The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education
