Job Description
Our client, a privately held residential owner-managed property management company is seeking to hire a full-time Assistant Property Manager to support leasing and operations of a beautiful traditional housing 120-unit community in the West Hills/Canoga Park area.
- Company: The management firm owns and manages 40+ communities throughout Los Angeles, Ventura, and the San Fernando Valley. This is an owner-managed property management firm offering a professional and supportive work environment. Due to the volume of their assets, there are opportunities for growth for individuals demonstrating commitment and value within the organization. The management firm puts on employee events throughout the year including competitions for holiday decorations, beach parties, holiday family events, and more!
- Position: This is a full-time, direct-hire, on-site position working 40 hours per week with overtime as needed. Depending on experience they are offering up to $50k-$55k annually, plus monthly bonuses based on the performance of the building. Bonus potential is approximately $500 per month. The schedule will be Monday-Friday business hours with occasional Saturdays depending on sitting vacancies and occupancy numbers. Valid California driver’s license is required.

Assistant Manager:
Responsible, under the direction of the Regional Manager, for supporting all phases of the property operations. Assists in monitoring and directing rental activities, all on-site marketing activities, and maintain an in-depth, ongoing knowledge of the local market. Assist in timely collection of rents, banking activities, and documentation of all transactions. Works with all on-site operations and achieving property financial and operational objectives.

Additional Job Duties:
- Attendance at required meetings and conference calls.
- Adheres to the standards and participates in necessary standards training.
- Some local travel may be required.
- After hours emergency contact for the building
Education, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous residential property management experience with knowledge of common terms and procedures
- Strong customer service skills and professional personal presentation
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as multifamily leases, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with residents or employees of organization.
- Must work well with others and be able to work as a team (team player)
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
