Role Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager of Constructiontakes part in all aspects of a project, including scope of work development, design, planning, pre-construction, construction, close out, and post follow- up. The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will expand their construction knowledge and skills while supporting the Project Manager of Construction. They will develop their expertise through supporting the execution of Hotel Renovation scope of work, contracts, brand standards, quality requirements, and managing relationships with sub-contractors, vendors, employees and support staff. This is a remote or hybrid role (depending on location) with preference for the Cincinnati, OH, Chicago, IL, and Phoenix, AZ areas.
Role Responsibilities:
With training and development, the Assistant Project Manager will build towards performing the following-
- Adhere to major hotel brand standards (Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Hyatt, etc.) with the skillset to understand and facilitate hotel operations
- Build phasing schedules; enforcing, monitoring and adapting project schedules; and communicating progress, delays, and other conflicts
- Read plans, perform take offs, and foresee issues
- Create rooms out of order matrices
- Manage change orders and change order logs with in-field management and ownership
- Run and manage on-going and final punch lists with superintendents and field management
- Manage all aspects of project close out including final budget analysis, change order closeout, and on-site project completion checklist
- Coordinate FF&E/material receiving, inventory, & installation
- Manage subcontractor and vendor relations from pre-construction and project kick-off through project close-out, utilizing cohesive schedules and daily task lists
- Monitor and communicate scopes of work for individual sub-contractors
- Execute owner contract, SOW, AFP’s, SOV’s, and lien waivers
- Instigate and drive regular meetings with hotel ownership
- Ensure safety and OSHA compliance with Field teams
- Maintain clean, safe working conditions onsite
Competencies:
- Basic understanding of critical path scheduling

- Multitasking across several projects at different stages
Requirements
- 1-3 years of Construction and/or project management experience (all industries)
- Basic understanding of constructability and/or renovations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Ability to travel up to 25% in the role via plane and rental vehicle
Preferences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or similar experience
- Experience working for a General Contractor
- Experience with PlanGrid and Bluebeam
