Assistant Project Manager

OVERVIEW OF POSITION: The Assistant Project Manager’s primary focus is to coordinate activities and functions of one or more designated projects, business system configurations, or process improvements to ensure the goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. This includes tracking project(s) progress and timely communicating its status to various stakeholders.  Duties can range from administrative duties (maintenance of project documentation, plans and reports), to directing and coordinating the execution of smaller level or cross-functional business initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists and supports the PMO Director, Project Manager(s), project sponsor(s), and fellow team members execute strategic initiatives and operational projects by managing scope, business requirements, schedule, and testing where applicable.
• Adheres to the established project artifact standards for the PMO
• Compiles and analyzes data, and prepares reports/recommendations on behalf of the project teams
• Collaborates with personnel at all organizational levels to gather information and prepare standard project artifacts and assigned reports
• Documents and distributes timely meeting minutes
• Assists with the administration and creation of management program level reports
• Assists with and leads meeting facilitation
• Monitors and follows up on action items, issues, risks, and change logs
• Assigns tasks under the direction of the PMO Director, SVP and/or Project Manager(s)
• Collects, consolidates and reports on program metrics, under direction of the PMO Director, SVP and/or Project Manager(s)
• Demonstrates regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Accesses EPHI following the current guidelines as established at the company-wide and department levels
• Create and modify test plans and coordinate corporate claims system testing. 
• Compile results define modifications and approve for deployment for select Operations teams across the enterprise (DDIL, TAIC, and other subsidiaries).

•     Serve as primary liaison between enterprise business users and claim system developers.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with Visio
• Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Experience in Agile methodologies
• Understanding of the software development life cycle fundamentals
• Develops and maintains workflows, procedures and system documentation which meets established business policies and practices and result in employee performance that meets or exceeds standards.
• Participates in interdepartmental, cross-functional work groups as well as respond to written and oral inquiries from internal staff.
• Leads by example for other team members, meeting or exceeding established goals for accuracy, turnaround time and productivity.
• Communicates status of activities and on-going projects to Immediate Team Leader.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Technology related field preferred.
• At least one year of work experience, preferably in a project support or project management role
• Detail oriented, accurate and organized with a proven reputation for thorough research and documentation
• Ability to multi-task; managing multiple projects, team assignments, and support for other team members
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment and comfortable with change
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders including functional leadership
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Position requires superior business analysis and problem-solving abilities; managing projects independently as well as providing leadership on cross-functional efforts 
• Must have strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact positively with both technical team members and business users
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, presentation and workflow systems
