Job Details:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic CPS Projects team in the Construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the Project Manager and team in managing a portfolio of capital development projects in the public sector, particularly schools and colleges. This role requires a deep understanding of construction processes, project management principles, and the Procore project management software. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of educational infrastructure in the government sector and work in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Project Manager in the planning and execution of CPS Projects, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
2. Collaborate with the project team to define project objectives, scope, and perform detailed project scheduling.
3. Utilize Procore project management software to track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
4. Work closely with stakeholders, including government officials, school administrators, and contractors, to ensure clear communication and alignment of project goals.
5. Prepare and present project updates to senior management and other stakeholders, highlighting any issues and proposed solutions.
6. Ensure all projects comply with safety standards and legal regulations.
7. Assist in risk management, including identification of potential project risks and development and implementation of response plans.
8. Support the Project Manager in managing project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
9. Participate in project reviews and quality assurance procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is required.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management in the construction industry, with a focus on capital development projects.
3. Demonstrated experience in the public sector, particularly in schools and colleges, is highly desirable.
4. Proficiency in using Procore project management software is a must.
5. Excellent understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
6. Strong leadership, decision-making, and team management skills.
7. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
10. Knowledge of safety and legal regulations in the construction industry.
11. PMP or equivalent certification will be considered an advantage.
