Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060. Department Information The School of Data Science and Analytics offers a wide range of educational courses and programs focused on applied statistics, analytics, and Data Science including general education courses, an undergraduate minor, an undergraduate major, a master's degree, and a PhD in Data Science and Analytics. Faculty in the School currently conduct collaborative, interdisciplinary research in biostatistics, process improvement, survey methodology, sports analytics, psychometrics, education, and various areas of applied Data Science.

Industry, government, and organizations partner with us to find solutions to their data-centric problems through the Center for Data Science and Analytics (CDSA) and the Human Studies Lab, two of the most successful and dynamic research units at the university. There are opportunities to support the School services and programs through CDSA. Job Summary Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full-time, nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Data Scienceand Analytics faculty positions in the School of Data Science and Analytics that begins August 2024.

Responsibilities Teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in applied statistics, analytics, and Data Science Active scholarship activities consistent with an R2 institution (such as, but not limited to, publications in journals, patents, successful external grant funding, etc.) Mentor undergraduate and/or graduate students in research Service to the School, College, and University as needed Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines. Required Qualifications A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related discipline, is required. For ABDs, required degree must be earned by start date.

Proficient in at least one analytical programming language (e.g., R, Python, SAS) Evidence of and/or potential for scholarship and/or creative activities Preferred Qualifications Evidence of and/or potential to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in statistics, analytics, Data Science, or closely related field Evidence of and/or potential to work in an interdisciplinary, collaborative setting (such as consulting center rotation, collaboration in an applied setting, industry experience, etc.) Required Documents to Attach CV Cover Letter (limit 2 pages) Unofficial Transcripts (Official Transcripts and Official International Course-by-Course Evaluations Due Upon Hire) Names, phone numbers, and email addresses of at least 3 references Statement of Teaching experience and philosophy (limit 2-3 pages) Statement of Research experience, interests, and future plans (limit 2-3 pages) Incomplete applications will not be considered.
