Job Summary


The AACSB accredited School of Business offers undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Management Information Systems and currently serves approximately 3300 students.
The Department of Finance, Accounting, and Management Information Systems within the School of Business at Georgia Gwinnett College invites candidates to apply for a full-time Assistant Professor of Legal Studies position beginning August 1, 2024.Successful candidates for the Assistant Professor position will be expected to teach a 3/3 load of lower- and upper-division courses. In addition to teaching, applicants are expected to actively participate in scholarly activities and demonstrate a clear research agenda.
The ideal candidate will have experience providing real world application of material in the classroom, with attention to training students to work in the business profession.

In addition to teaching, applicants are expected to actively participate in extensive student engagement, and service to the college and community. Advising and mentoring are expected of all faculty.

Required Qualifications


Must hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA Accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in at least one State in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications


Applicants with 18 or more graduate credit hours in a related business field (e.g., Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Marketing, Business Communications, International Transactions, or Management) will be given strong preference. The graduate credit hour requirement may be met by a variety of degrees: M.Acc., M.Tax, M.S. Accounting, LLM in Tax, M.S. Finance, MBA, etc.
Preference will also be given to applicants with prior teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Prior experience practicing law in a business-related area of legal practice for at least 3 years is strongly preferred.
