Job Summary

The Communication and Emerging Media program at GSW offers a cutting-edge curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical experience. Students have the opportunity to engage with a wide range of courses, covering areas such as communication studies, digital media production, strategic communication, journalism, and media studies. This comprehensive approach allows students to develop a well-rounded skill set that is highly relevant in today's rapidly evolving media landscape.

Responsibilities
    Deliver engaging and comprehensive courses in the Communication and Emerging Media program, with a focus on the intersections of new media technologies, and communication/media practices.Actively engage in research and scholarly activities to contribute to the academic excellence of the department.Provide dedicated advising and mentorship to students as assigned, fostering their academic and professional growth.Demonstrate a strong commitment to service through active participation in departmental, University, and professional activities.Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and Administration.
Required Qualifications Ph.D. in Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, or a closely related field by the time of appointment.Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching Emerging Media-focused courses in Communication Studies, Strategic Communication, Journalism, or Media Studies.

Experience collaborating across disciplines, especially in areas where communication intersects with other fields like business, psychology, sociology, or technology.

Experience coordinating students in experiential learning opportunities, internships, and High Impact Practices (HIPs).

Proposed Salary

$50,000 - $55,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
