Overview:
The Assistant Production Manager, Apparel supports the Sr. Production Manager in overseeing various aspects of the apparel manufacturing process. This role requires a combination of organizational skills, attention to detail, and collaborative teamwork to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of high-quality apparel products.
Job Description:
- Proactively collaborates with vendors to accommodate PO changes or adjustments, aligning with sales orders and inventory requirements.
- Assists the finance department by providing comprehensive invoice information pertinent to bulk production purchase orders.
- Ensures accuracy in production lead-times and booking dates by directly engaging with vendors, thereby streamlining the procurement process.
- Efficiently coordinates the monthly booking process for long-term carryover styles in close collaboration with the planning team.
- Undertakes additional responsibilities and projects as necessary to bolster overall business operations and performance.
- Engages in daily communication with vendors regarding bulk production orders, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the procurement process.
- Facilitates the seamless onboarding of new vendors, fostering strong relationships from the outset.
- Regularly participates in weekly conference calls directly with vendors to address outstanding matters, monitor production progress, and resolve any emerging issues promptly.
- Works closely with the Product Development & Sourcing team to conduct vendor assessments and plan seasonal capacities effectively.
- Serves as a pivotal liaison between garment vendors and material suppliers, proactively addressing any production-related issues or concerns.

Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in fashion, Apparel Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in retail or wholesale with focused experience in apparel production or sourcing related positions.
- Excellent understanding of product development, product costs, production lead times.
- Strong MS Office, especially Excel. Excellent math skills
- Full circle, Centrix or PLM experience preferred.
- Production planning, knowledge of the production process, lead-times, garment construction
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence decisions with cross-functional teams.

Pay: $67,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
