Position Summary
Assist the Mine Engineer/ProjectEngineer to perform engineeringduties at the mine sites. Prepare various plans for state and Federal agencies and providesreports. This is the intermediate engineering position at the mine site.
Target Responsibilities
Assists Mine Engineer and Mine Managementin all daily tasks needed to operate multiple Continuous Miner Sections andLongwalls.
Monitor daily production at the mine andverify MPR input versus Shift Productions and Delay reports for STIC.
Manage and work with Mine Surveyors andDraftsman to verify check line surveys are accurate and within 2,000 feet ofall section face locations.
Work underground routinely to check onprojects, section conditions, and bleeder and air course ventilation.
Designs Degas borehole sites andacquire all needed permits for drilling and mining through surface degas holesand CBM wells.
Maintain the CONSOL Forecaster program, evaluatemine timing, and assists the Mine Engineer with projections and mine planning.
Manage gaswell pillar permits, cut thruplans and agency submittals, coordinate mines need with Project engineers.
Work with the Mine Foremen and other minemanagement in ventilation, mapping, and updating mine maps and ventilation.
Work with the Project engineers tocoordinate the underground to surfaceinteraction of projects.
Coordinate and supervise specialprojects, belt installations, and minefresh water and discharge projects.
Write requisitions, obtainpurchase orders and tracks expenditures: for contracts, and projecting materials.
Make budget recommendations tomanagers responsible for financing and approving budgets.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degreein Mining Engineering or a relatedEngineering field, or equivalent experience is required.PA Assistant Mine Foreman Certification and section / longwallsupervisor experience preferred.Requires2 - 5 years of related experience in mine operations and mine ventilation.Fundamentals of Engineering ( FE )certification for future PE licensure preferred. Requirestravel between variousmine/job sites, to and from MSHA, and stateagencies when necessary.Must possess effective verbal communication skills and all Microsoft office softwareproficiency.
