The Assistant IT Analyst assists in analyzing, designing, and implementing information systems. They work closely with the IT Analyst and play a crucial role in assisting to bridge the gap between business needs and technological solutions. Reports to the VP of Technology.

- Assists with monitoring network and system activities for malicious activities or policy violations
- Uses threat intelligence and analysis tools to identify potential threats and assists in assessing their impact on the organization
- Assists with the designs and implementations of security measures and controls to protect systems and information infrastructures, including firewalls, encryptions, and endpoint protection
- Assists with security tools and software, ensuring they are updated to defend against known vulnerabilities
- Assists maintaining an incident response plan to ensure rapid and effective action in the event of a security breach
- Participates in the investigations of security breaches and assists with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches as necessary
- Assists in performing vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in the organization's cyber defenses
- Prioritizes vulnerabilities based on their potential impacts and coordinates remediation efforts
- Provides assistance in ensuring that the organization's cybersecurity policies and practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements
- Assists with risk assessments to identify information security risks and develops plans to mitigate them
- Promotes a culture of security within the organization through regular communication and updates on cybersecurity issues and policies
- Participates in the development and implementations of an overall information security strategy to enhance the security posture of the organization
- Assists with the security aspects of system development and integration to ensure that new technologies and systems are implemented securely
- Collaborates with other departments to align security measures with business objectives
