We are Hiring an Assistant Interior Designer to assist our principal designers and help to manage current projects in a growing interior design firm. The position is 32 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 9-5, in a casual work environment with competitive hourly rates and paid time off.
We are looking for an Interior Designer (Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design required) with experience, a desire to learn and grow in this industry as a professional, the ability to be a team player in a positive work environment, and the capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with daily tasks while managing ever-changing priorities and long term project goals.
The Ideal Candidate will be motivated, hard-working, detail oriented, and experienced in interior design (1+ years) with strong written, oral and visual communication skills.Must be able to multitask, operate without micromanagement, act professionally, and be highly organized.
Technical Requirements:
- 1+ years interior design experience (internship can count as experience)
- Basic AutoCAD skills preferred
- Skilled in visual communication; Microsoft PowerPoint required
- Technologically savvy - ability to learn new systems and skills
- Experience in Studio Designer software preferred but not required
Job Functions:
Project Assistance inclusive of helping to manage the flow and completion of a project. Activities include but are not limited to:
- Pricing selections and adding items to our interior design software (Studio Designer)
- Identifying lead times, requesting finish samples, and following up as needed.
- Following up on the status of outstanding items, identifying potential problems as or before they arise, and staying on top of project "to do list".
- Assisting with project selections and design as needed and requested by Project Designer.
- Assist with scheduling and coordination of installations.
- Meet installers, workrooms, etc as needed on job sites.
- Communication with clients as needed on proposals, status, follow up, coordination, etc.
- Assist with installations and photo shoots as needed.
Office Assistance, including but not limited to:
- Receiving Room - open items upon receipt for review and notate in system. Label accordingly in the receiving room. Keep the receiving room organized.
- Library - File fabrics, wallcoverings, and rugs when done being used on a project, inclusive of sorting and putting items away. Organize new samples and file.
- File vendor specific finish samples and fabrics in appropriate labeled bags and bins.
- Help with spec room organization as needed.
- General team effort on things like trash takeout, wiping down personal desk space, etc.
- Pick up samples from vendors, drop off fabrics, etc.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
