POSITION: ASSISTANT EQUIPMENT MANAGER
REPORTS TO: GROUNDS SUPERINTENDENT & HEAD EQUIPMENT MANAGER
HOURLY RATE: $22.00 - $25.00
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To be a preeminent country club in the nation by providing a haven for members and their families to create long-lasting memories and friendships through unparalleled experiences.
The Denver Country Club is currently searching for a highly motivated, team-oriented individual for the position of Assistant Equipment Manager. The AEM reports directly to the Head Equipment Manager and Golf Course Superintendent, and under the supervision of the Head Equipment Manager, plans, directs, and participates in the maintenance of the Golf Course grounds equipment
About the club:

Established in 1887, Denver Country Club is recognized as the first club west of the Mississippi and one of the most prestigious private clubs in the country. The 585 member, by invitation only private club, hosts an 18 hole Golf Course, two indoor golf simulators (Foresight Quads), indoor and outdoor tennis, platform tennis, pickleball, ice hockey, lawn bowling, croquet, casual and fine dining. The club has a long history of golf championships including the Denver Open (PGA Tour Event 1962-1964), Trans-Mississippi Amateur (upcoming 2022), Pacific Coast Amateur and Curtis Cup (1984). A Golf Course renovation was completed in 2020 - Gil Hanse. The renovation has helped to secure Denver Country Club as one of the premier Golf Courses in the Western United States. The Golf Shop is consistently recognized as an AGM Platinum Award Winning Golf Shop (Top 100) and has been recognized as a multiple winner of the Colorado Section PGA Merchandiser of the Year - Private Category.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Communicates any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment with the equipment manager and/or superintendent.
  • Inspects, diagnoses, adjusts, and repairs various mechanical pieces of Golf Course maintenance equipment on a regular basis.
  • Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work.
  • Sets up and modifies new equipment as needed.
  • Repairs and adjusts engines and cutting mechanisms on various mowing equipment.
  • Keeps maintenance equipment fueled, oiled, and inspected; and performs related tasks as required
  • Assists where needed throughout the Golf Course.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Working knowledge of the general operation of gasoline, diesel and electric powered equipment, the proper methods of servicing Golf Course Equipment, and the repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
  • Ability to move heavy objects.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written direction.
  • Mechanical ability: ability to use common mechanical tools.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, work environment.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and well-organized parts inventory room.
  • Adhering to the proper recycling and/or disposal of various oils, compounds, and other fluids (antifreeze, oil filters, etc.).
  • Assisting in an effective, daily inspection of Golf Course maintenance equipment.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
