Assistant Director of Security (Full Time)
United Security Services, Inc., a national security company, which specializes in hospitality and customer service, is seeking a professional full-time Assistant Director of Security to manage the security operation at Downtown Summerlin.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of hospitalitysecurity experience, with at least 2 years of management /supervisory experience.
- Exceptional customer service skills and excellent judgement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills.
- Skilled at writing professional security reports.
- Strong working knowledge of Las Vegas’ culture, communities, and dynamics.
- Proficient with interacting, communicating and working jointly with clients and retail staff.
- Effective in assisting with the management and development of a professional security team in a premium hospitality setting.
- Possess, or can acquire by time of employment, a State of Nevada PILB Security Work Card.
- Availability/flexibility to work any day, including weekends and holidays, and any work shift based on operational needs.
- Ability to assist with administrative matters, including work schedules and progressive discipline.
Preferred:
- Professional work law enforcement experience within the Las Vegas region.
- Existing liaison relationships with local law enforcement and/or public safety agencies.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn security software applications.
- Possess a strong working knowledge of the hospitality industry and the related nomenclature.
Job Description:
- In absence of DOS, regular liaison with DTS executive and management staff
- Assist DOS to ensure appropriate staffing level for day-to-day operational effectiveness
- Assist with the investigation of personnel matters and review all progressive disciplinary packages
- Assist with coordination of all orientation, advanced and refresher training efforts
- Provide a high level of respectful and polite customer service for all DTS guests, visitors and business personnel
- In DOS absence, attend and conduct all pre-shift and end-of-shift briefings
- Assist with working with recruiting and onboarding staff to obtain needed staff and resources
- Assist with the weekly work schedule for all security personnel
- In DOS absence, represent the Security Team at all daily and weekly meetings and pre-shift briefings (i.e. pre-event meetings, site visits, security walkthroughs, etc.)
- Work jointly with DOS and the recruiting/onboarding team to interview and hire new security personnel as needed
- Liaison with local law enforcement and [public safety agencies as needed for operational effectiveness
- Liaison with other outside public safety and private sector entities as needed
- Regularly monitor all security software systems to ensure operational effectiveness/compliance
- Respond promptly to all inquiries and requests for assistance from DTS management and staff
- Assist with developing and delivering annual personnel evaluations
- Work jointly with DOS to provide regular training, coaching and mentoring for security supervisors and security officers to ensure adherence to company and venue policies, operating procedures, and post orders
- With assistance from security supervisors, develop annual personnel evaluations for security officers
- As needed, assist with payroll matters in order to monitor, address, and resolve any problems or discrepancies relating to payroll reporting, timekeeping, post coverage, scheduling and time off/ leave requests
- As needed, review all Security Incident Reports to ensure professional standards are maintained
