a. FINANCIAL LITERACY: Develop, implement, and manage a strategy to launch Financial Wellbeing programs, services, and resources to promote, facilitate, and scale students' financial literacy education. Work with marketing colleagues to create and implement awareness strategies. Develop and deliver workshops and create online content to increase student efficacy in making sound financial decisions by increasing students' knowledge and understanding of Financial literacy concepts. Build campus-wide relationships to identify and leverage supporters to collaborate on promoting students' financial literacy. Develop and implement financial literacy programming and peer advising opportunities for students. Promote use of the WhichWay platform. Participate in overall campus student well-being efforts.
b. CAREER MOBILITY: Support, expand, and advocate for the career-related and professional development needs of a growing diverse student population across all academic colleges and majors, in coordination with the Career Center's Career Education and External Relations teams. Develop and deliver educational and employer connection-based programming for students considering the unique professional and career development needs of underserved student populations. Oversee and administer the cultural competency grant process. Foster collaboration and communication with relevant student groups, campus partners, and external organizations. Serve as a liaison to and collaborate with relevant faculty, staff, student organizations, and other TU units to understand and serve students' needs and eliminate barriers. Work with TU's Alumni Alliances to facilitate the growth and engagement of mentors to support historically marginalized students.
c. ADMINISTRATIVE/OPERATIONS: Follow Career Center procedures and protocols and optimally utilize Career Center systems (i.e., Handshake, Salesforce, etc.). Collect and report regularly on utilization and effectiveness. Contribute to office data collection and assessment by accurately recording engagement, programs, services, and all other relevant touchpoints with internal and external contacts.
d. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & TEAM CONTRIBUTIONS: Proactively stay current on related professional topics, best practices, and trends to include TU and Career Center offerings, professional associations, independent reading, conference, and other professional development programming. Actively participate in staff and team meetings. Provide support as needed to Center's programs and initiatives; other duties as assigned that aid in the obtainment of the Career Center's mission. Provide Financial Wellbeing and literacy professional development to career center staff to ensure team financial fluency.
Bachelor's degree with 4 years of professional experience.
Professional experience ideally in financial education, banking, career coaching, HR, higher education, and/or DEI education. Experience with financial literacy education and/or knowledge of personal finance topics including budgeting, credit scores, and debt management strategies. Experience with issues related to employment barriers; wealth generation; issues of workplace accommodations; the application of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace; and the needs of a diverse student population. Experience and comfort with technology, online career platforms, and digital communication. Skilled at public speaking and the development of presentations. Demonstrated passion and aptitude for program development and execution, group facilitation, and stakeholder engagement. Strong commitment to student success. Ability to manage sensitive, private material and information professionally and appropriately. Comfort with change and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and understanding of the student experience in a university setting. Proven ability to cultivate connections and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external constituents in a complex system. Ability to keep track of multiple projects simultaneously and exhibit independent judgment.
Preferred qualifications:
M.S. in Business Administration, Accounting, Higher Education, Student Affairs, HR, Counseling, or a related field with 2 years of professional experience.
