Assistant Controller - Private Equity

Conexus is partnering with a boutique Asset Management firm, managing $2b in assets across three funds. We are currently looking for a talented and motivated individual to join their team as Assistant Controller in their Beverly Hills office.

As Assistant Controller, you'll be entrusted to manage the accounting, reporting, and finance-related functions for Private Equity funds. Working in a polished and professional setting, you'll play a significant role in the day-to-day operations of the funds, including assisting in purchase/sale transactions and interacting with various internal and external parties.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Collaborate with the fund administrator to prepare financial statements and capital account statements.
• Ensure the integrity of our financial data by providing a comprehensive review of fund financial statements, capital account statements, and tax returns.
• Act as a point of liaison with various internal and external stakeholders (including LPs, external auditors, and deal teams) to ensure the smooth operation of our funds and to facilitate custom reporting and projects to meet specific investor needs.
• Provide assistance to the Controller in executing special projects as needed.

Candidate Qualifications:

• A University degree in Accounting or related field
• Demonstrated experience in fund accounting, specifically within Private Equity or real estate funds.
• 6+ years of experience 
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• A self-starter, who is resourceful, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently, yet collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
