Assistant Controller North Dartmouth, MA
$90,000-$100,000
We are seeking an Assistant Controller to lead the finance activities including accounting and reporting, billing and collections, supplier management and settlement, treasury, payroll administration, and office administration. The Assistant Controller will be viewed as a business partner to the general manager with regard to forecasting and understanding financial and operational results and supporting operational and financial initiatives. The Assistant Controller also may become involved in contract approval and administration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Regional Director of Finance to implement efficient, timely, and accurate policies and procedures responsive to the areas of control
* Establish the format and subsequent approval procedures for all balance sheet reconciliations including cash, AP, AR, inventory, prepaid expenses, property, plant and equipment and other assets, accrued expenses, and shareholder's equity
* Work with the sales/project managers to prepare and review monthly work-in-process (WIP) schedule for installation projects
* Coordinate the billing and collection process to ensure timely billings and collections
* Coordinate with the payroll specialist to ensure accurate and timely payment and recognition of employee compensation and benefits
* Facilitate the treasury activities including processing of customer payments, cash applications, supplier payments, and forecasting of cash activity
* Guide the development and understanding of all monthly accruals that require significant estimates and judgment
* Administer the issuance and usage of all corporate credit cards issued to Fire Systems employees
* Prepare and submit weekly management dashboards, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting; including budget-to-actual analysis, financial statement preparation and related forecast and budget support
* Procure all support for all requests related to the annual financial statement audit
* Produce financial data for the management team upon request and assisting with other special accounting projects
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
* Bachelor's degree in accounting
* Five or more years progressive accounting experience in public accounting or corporate work environment
* Strong organization, oral, and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word as well as experience with accounting software and other financial reporting tools.
* Strong analytical skills with particular attention to detail
