Assistant Controller

Our client a manufacturing company located in West Springfield, MA is looking for an Assistant Controller on a dire hire/permanent basis. Growth opportunities may be available within the company a few years down the line. The client is looking to move quickly through the interview process and get someone started in the position in the coming weeks. This will be a Monday through Friday traditional office hours position and will be a five day a week in office role.

Qualifications needed include the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Three years of related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Understanding of a multi-process, job shop-manufacturing environment
• MRP/ERP experience required
• Excellent communication skills, ability to deal with people at all levels
• Strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Previous experience with Sage preferred

Responsibilities include the following tasks:

• Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status
• Produces and manages balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses
• Assists with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization.
• Assists with preparations for audits.
• Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances
• Ensures compliance with and prepare reports according to applicable government regulations.
• Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
• Delegates accounting tasks to junior accounting staff.
• Coordinates with and prepares reports for CFO and upper management.
• Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
• Develop a reliable cash flow projection process
• Provide leadership, direction, coaching and mentoring to accounting staff and manage performance as needed
