General Engineer looking for Assistant Controller to learn various facets of the Accounting Department

Job Duties Overview:

• Accounts payable: sort invoices, obtain management coding and approval and enter in the accounting software
• Code credit card statements and maintain credit card records
• Prepare and process check runs
• Monthly bank account reconciliation
• Track preliminary notices and certificates of insurance
• Manage vendor inquiries and statements
• Process W9’s and 1099's
• Process weekly union payroll in a job costing and union environment
• Review and track certified payroll reports
• Process weekly payroll taxes
• Process quarterly and annual payroll taxes
• Maintain Union Payroll wage rates in our Accounting System
• Maintain and distribute employee packages to Project Superintendents
• Send dispatch requests to appropriate unions as requested by Project Managers and Superintendents
• Train with the Controller to assist with journal entries and financial reports

Experience:

· Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting or Finance

· Proven experience in financial analysis and account reconciliation

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices

· Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively

· Professional work ethic

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
