Assistant Controller

Clayton Kendall, the largest branded merchandise distributor in Pennsylvania is seeking an Assistant Controller which will play an integral role in ensuring the financial health of the organization. The position will be responsible for providing accurate financial information to the Chief Financial Officer through researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports. They will be responsible for compiling aspects of the financial statements, managing general ledgers, assisting with elements of accounts payable, and administering aspects of the payroll function.

Assistant Controller Responsibilities:

· Collaborating with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial information.

· Entering financial data such as accruals, deferrals, and reclassifications on a monthly basis.

· Performing account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correct.

· Reconciling accounts with the general ledger.

· Ensuring that financial information complies with general accepted accounting standards (GAAP).

· Assist in annual audit with external auditors.

· Provide backup support to the accounts payable team as needed.

· Oversee sales tax reporting and compliance.

· Administer payroll function.

Assistant Controller Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a similar field

· At least 5 years’ experience in general ledger accounting, or similar.

· Public accounting experience a plus.

· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate preferred.

· Proficiency in accounting and business management software; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 NAV a plus.

· In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.

· Exceptional attention to detail and able to effectively prioritize.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $96,000.00 per year
