G.W. Becker, Inc. (GWBI) is looking for a Production and Material Control Assistant who will be responsible for entering bill of materials into our ERP system and being the go-to between departments regarding production times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review Drawings, enter/review corresponding Bills of materials, make any necessary changes
• Set up routing for all sub-assemblies/parts and upper-level items in the business system, based on original quote & standard production times
• Update all Documents in ERP for revision level and release to the shop
• Review material requirements for all drawings & quote appropriate vendors / interact with purchasing for procurement
• Looks ahead in schedule to combine like materials for best price opportunities
• Familiar with production schedules to pull up/push back components, run standard parts to level production
• Check inventory levels on standard parts / cycle count
• Interact with all departments, identify and resolve problems
• Cost completed routers, roll up costs into upper level – be able to review for accuracy
• Familiar with structural steel/steel plate, mechanical items, powertrain items a plus
• Process non conformances due to damaged shipments, internal issues or outside variables
• Cost and process field service orders accordingly, time slip entry and reconciliation
• Competencies Familiarity with engineering bill of materials and inventory systems
• Ability to utilize judgment in handling confidential data in a discreet manner

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of inventory control in a machine shop environment
• Basic PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Able to read blueprints and machining drawings
• Must be able to use a tape measure
• Must be familiar with steel fabrication and process
• Experience in manufacturing and CNC Machining
• Knowledge in ERP business software
• Experience in Bill of Materials and part routing
• Experience in overhead cranes and/or material handling
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal skills; must have strong phone presence
• Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented personality, and the ability to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously
