Cargomatic is seeking a CPA-qualified Assistant Controller to join our Finance team. This individual will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including the preparation of financial statements, month-end closes, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with all accounting regulations.
Experience in logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, or NVOCC would be beneficial in this role. Additionally, experience with Big 4 firms is highly desired.

Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger activities and accounts payable/receivable.
- Lead month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Coordinate and support annual external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Prepare financial statements in compliance with accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
- Stay updated on accounting standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including GL, audit, and month-end close.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, write account memos and SOPs, and Netsuite knowledge preferred
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
This role will have a base location of either Long Beach or San Francisco, CA, with a hybrid-work model.
