Our client, a leading service provider in the Puget Sound Region with a track record of strong organic growth, has partnered with Logis to find their next Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for leading, developing, and implementing the company’s accounting programs and systems to support its continued growth and success. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and other disclosures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and provide financial analysis and insights.
- Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their success and development.
- Assist with the development and implementation of financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- General ledger account reconciliations as a part of normal close procedures, both oversight and execution.
- Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
- Proactively assess organizational needs, strategically plan, and implement changes to support and scale with the business.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that accounting information is accurate and timely.
- Ad hoc reports as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
