The Document Control Assistant helps our Document Control Specialist with coordinating product and process documentation, processing engineering change orders, maintaining part numbers and specifications, and completing small projects. This is a part-time position based at company headquarters in Kennewick, WA.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
- Assists in maintaining drawings, documents, and other files in an orderly system, including revision control and document preservation, in accordance with Company and regulatory requirements
- Assist the Document Control Specialist in the generation and organization of product and process documentation, ensuring Document Control procedures are followed throughout the project
- Process approved ECOs through the Document Control system
- Issue and maintain part numbers and specifications, and assist in maintaining part specification files
- Obtain FDA UDI numbers, maintain related records, and work with Manufacturing to ensure accurate numbers are used for labels
- Assist in the generation of Document Control procedures and policies, and assist with distribution and communication of procedures
- Reproduce documentation for various departments as needed
- Complete small projects as required
- Must prioritize and organize a wide variety of tasks with minimum supervision, and consistently follow written procedures and guidelines
- Provide backup coverage for Document Control Specialist
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
- AA degree in technical or related field desired
Job Knowledge / Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications desired
- Complete work both independently and as an effective member of the team, adapting to changing requirements, deadlines, and priorities as needed
- Competency in computer skills: MS Office and Google applications
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including making presentations, writing/reviewing documentation, and working with engineers
- Critical success criteria include attention to detail, organized approach to work, effective time management and follow-through
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
- General office positions may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, color vision, and 2-way written/verbal communication.
