Asset Protection Service Team Associates

- Scheduled during daytime and evening hours
- Provides coverage at three main entrances: grocery, general merchandise, and garden center

Our AP Service TAs are highly visible associates at our front doors.
They carry on the spirit of Mr. Sam's basic beliefs and show what is means to strive for excellence by:
- Being easily recognized as a Walmart associate
- Following the Ten Foot Rule
- Always maintaining a neat, clean, and consistent appearance
- Always visibly wearing a name badge on their vest
Important information about Asset Protection Service TA.
It is important to remember the primary role of AP Service TA is to provide customer service. It is critical the following information is communicated to and executed by both positions. Not doing so can result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
The AP Service TA is not an "Authorized Associate"as defined in Policy AP-09
- The AP Service TA may not participate in the surveillance, investigation and/or detention of a person suspected of or committing shoplifting except to:
- Act as a witness to an investigation or detention from a safe distance;
- To provide an accurate statement of their observations while acting as a witness; and
- To contact law enforcement, emergency services, Walmart Asset Protection or Walmart store management.
- Any associate not specified as an Authorized Associate that witnesses or is made aware of suspected criminal activity or violence within a facility should advise a member of management or an Asset Protection associate of the incident and if necessary to protect the safety of themselves, other associates or customers contact the appropriate law enforcement or emergency authorities.
- You should not violate the AP-09 policy, even if directed to do so.
- If you observe or become aware of this policy being violated, immediately notify the Asset Protection Operations Lead and Regional Asset Protection Director for the facility.
- If you are aware or become aware of a detention or attempted detention which results in physical contact between a customer and an associate beyond physical redirection, defined under "Authorized Methods of Detention" of this policy, you are required to immediately report the incident to the Asset Protection Ops Lead and Regional Asset Protection Director for the facility.
If a customer refuses to show a receipt, or allow the AP Service TA to respond to the EAS alarm...
- You should notblock, detain, or prevent the customer from leaving with their merchandise.
- You should notchase or follow the customer.
- You should not comment to the customer beyond thanking them for shopping at Walmart.
- You should not make a police report based upon the interaction with the customer.
- You should make note of the interaction you had with the customer
- You should notify a manager, or an Asset Protection associate of the interaction.

We're always helping customers, and often have to help when there's a problem.
We make sure the entrances are safe and secure, and report when things aren't right.
There are some pre-requisites for the AP Service Team Associate position:
- Associates who are extended a job offer must pass a drug screen check to work in Asset Protection.
- The position is not eligible for temporary alternative duty (TAD) following a workplace injury.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
