THE ROLE
Your role stands at the intersection of organizing and the effort to make positive change in educational equity and racial justice in Arizona. Stand for Children is currently hiring part-time, temporary, Election Outreach Coordinators for our legislative and school board elections organizing program. The part-time and temporary position is responsible for working in targeted areas to recruit volunteers, connect with voters, and build a strong Stand for Children base of voters committed to winning our campaigns. The position works under the supervision of the State Organizing Director.
LOCATION: Different locations in AZ. Chandler, Gilbert, Paradise Valley, Scottsdale, Mesa, Peoria, Marana
COMPENSATION: $25 per hour
HOURS: up to 20 hours per week. 1-6 PM and Weekends. Opportunities for more hours may be available.
DURATION: April/May 2024 through November 2024.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Build Pipeline, Educate and Engage Voters:
Daily canvassing outreach to voters in your designated area.
Daily volunteer recruitment calls/texts to build a Stand for Children pipeline of volunteers who are ready and willing to participate and act in activities.
Daily/Weekly tabling to reach voters in designated areas.
Build volunteer teams that can engage through the November 2024 election and beyond.
Lead weekly canvasses, training, and other events/activities as needed in your designated area.
Participate and engage in any other election-related activity as designated by the State Organizing Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
Highly organized and a responsible self-starter.
Able to use technology, and Microsoft Office Products such as Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook and be comfortable learning new platforms.
Ability to effectively present information and material in a variety of formal settings: one-on-one, small, and large groups, consisting of diverse people including parents, voters, community members, educators, and Stand staff.
Ability and willingness to knock on doors, send text messages, and make many phone calls to ensure success.
Respect for economic and cultural diversity, and experience working with diverse groups of people.
Ability to quickly build and develop authentic relationships.
Hours are flexible but will mostly include evening and weekend hours.
Access to a vehicle and valid driver's license.
Stand for Children consists of two separate entities. Stand for Children, Inc., a grassroots membership organization is exempt under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code, and Stand for Children Leadership Center, a leadership development organization is exempt under section 501(c)(3)
