Throughout our 37 years of operation, M.I.K.I.D. has discovered the need to diversify our funding streams expanding and increasing Federal, State, City, and Corporation, and Foundation Grants as well as increase both our monetary and in-kind donations. This in turn is where we need Contract Community Outreach Specialists’ assistance. This is a Part Time position. The hired candidate will not be an employee of M.I.K.I.D. but rather an Independent Contractor that is contracted to provide the services listed in this posting.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Evaluation of current funding sources supporting our M.I.K.I.D.’s Tucson Office (Grants, Donors, in-kind and monetary).
- Presentations to local groups such as Kiwanis, Rotary, Businesses, and other potential supporters of our mission.
- Relationship development with potential donors and contributors to M.I.K.I.D.
- Work with local managers on donation drives.
- Work with M.I.K.I.D. Volunteer/Event Coordinator to support local office needs.
- Potentially attend meetings and networking groups such as Chamber of Commerce, or local BNI Network.
- Meet with local businesses such as restaurants for donation support both in-kind and monetary.
- Knowledge of diverse funding opportunities related to non-profit entities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Presentation skills
- Budgeting and forecasting skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years’ experience understanding various grant funding opportunities.
- 1-2 years’ experience working with non-profit organizations preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience in fundraising and donations.
- 1-2 years’ experience in Canva and/or other graphic design creation tools.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience of being a self-starter and self-motivated (Contract Work)
- Soft skills and interpersonal skills required.
- Understanding of HIPPA regulations and other sensitive subjects dealing with mental and behavioral health authorities.
- Current or ability to obtain Level One DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Frequently communicates with internal and external constituents related to the programs and services offered by M.I.K.I.D.
- Hybrid working environment.
