This position is for an Area Superintendent in support of the Groton Shipyard Ship Management Organization. The Area Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities of trade General Foreman, Foreman, and their hourly employees to effectively execute work assignments in support of overhaul and repair or VA class construction.
The chosen candidate will be required to:
- Work as a team with first and second shift Area Superintendents to ensure safety, quality, schedule, cost, and continuous improvement goals of each assigned project are met.
- Demonstrate a strong technical background, problem solving skills, and critical thinking.
- Interface with all levels of EB management, operations, vendors, consultants, and military personnel, while reporting directly to the Ship Manager.
All applicants must be able to work independently with little to no oversight, possess an energetic and positive attitude, and be willing to adapt as requirements of assigned tasks change.
The individual is expected to support working extended hours and weekends.
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Multi-disciplinary trade, industrial, or shipyard experience as an individual contributor
- 2+ years of working in a supervisory capacity within the trades or shipyard
Preferred:
- Military leadership experience
- 3+ years prior Shipyard experience
