Ecotone seeks a creative, committed Architectural Designer passionate about urban wellness design, technical precision, and the design/build process. In addition, we hope to identify an individual who thrives in a dynamic environment with a small team. The nature of our team and operation as a design-build, with in-house fabrication and craftsmen, requires working in person from our Brooklyn design studio!
· Responsibilities
o Success in this position depends primarily on a passion for designing and a drive to grow within this role and industry.
o This critical role player should be at home in the uninhibited exploration of conceptual design processes.
o Our studio is design and build, so this role requires a technical understanding of custom millwork and metalwork and a willingness to work alongside and learn from fabricators to incorporate their knowledge of the process into shop drawings.
o Adept at implementing the latest tools, software, and networking resources to stay lean and competitive.
o Strong communication skills, excellent follow-through, and a detail-oriented inclination are essential prerequisites.
o You will be responsible for design/documentation production and project management duties. Including but not limited to:
o Project document organization.
o Conceptual packages and renderings.
o Modeling, detailing, and construction documents.
o Organizing presentations to clients, consultants, freelancers, and vendors.
o Specifications, rough estimating, and ordering.
o Coordination with in-house fabricators, clients, GC, MEP, etc.
o Coordination on project scope, details, and approvals with clients and external partners, including millworkers, lighting vendors, and consultants.
Qualifications
o Graduate of an accredited Master's or Bachelor of Architecture degree program or related combination.
o 2-3 Years minimum previous experience in an architectural or interior design firm. 3-5 Years preferred.
o Proficiency in Revit is required, please do not apply with CAD-only work experience.
o Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Enscape, and Bluebeam Revu, Fusion 360 preferred.
o Proficiency in Autodesk Construction Cloud preferred.
o Experience with custom details, material specification, and fabrication required.
o Ability to prioritize workload and delegate supporting tasks.
o Ability to learn new technology and adjust to new work patterns.
o You are collaborative and enjoy working as an integral part of a small team.
o Licensure is not required but is considered a strength.
