Apprentice Plumber

TPI Plumbing Contractors is looking for a full-time Apprentice Plumbers to start immediately.

We have been in business since 1983 and we are one of Des Moines’ most reputable Commercial and Residential Plumbing Contractors!

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Install Water Lines
2. Replace and Repair Plumbing Fixtures and Appliances
3. Troubleshoot Plumbing Problems
4. Perform Maintenance on Plumbing Systems
5. Clean and Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment
6. Must be able to follow direction and pay attention to details
7. Demonstrate proper and safe use of tools and equipment
8. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
9. Ability to handle stress and disruptions, and maintain professionalism
10. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, dig, lift and carry 50+ lbs.
11. Cutting openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
12. Cutting, threading, and bending pipe to required angles
13. Assembling and installing valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals and non-metals
14. Joining pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, and solder
15. Testing pipes by filling them with water or air and reads gauges to determine whether the system is working accurately
16. Properly clock in and out of your job with the correct cost codes

REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid driver’s license
• Registered as an apprentice with the Iowa DOL
• Must be able to pass a physical and drug screen
