Job description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Provide front line production support, proactive monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, security, maintenance, and incident management for critical middleware suite of applications. Work closely with clients, vendors, other incident management teams and technical staff by following best SRE practices to identify and resolve Priority/High Severity production issues, and perform Root Cause Analysis to provide long term solutions. Maintain stability of transactions and troubleshoot middleware, server, load balancer, application, network, database issues in all the environments. Debug issues in the production environment through analyzing logs, collection metrics, and leveraging app-monitoring tools, and create solutions for sustained resiliency. Perform validation health checks, administrative and middleware technical support to application development teams during production deployments. Partner with application development teams to understand new projects, cross-pipeline requirements, and set Production support team expectations. Serve as a liaison with internal monitoring teams to make sure appropriate alerting is in place. Build auto-monitoring and auto-refresh dashboards to provide real-time data metrics. Develop automation micro services and workflows for maintenance activities and resiliency events. Create and maintain documentation including detailed analysis of the end-to-end flow and infrastructure stack for various critical applications. Improve the stability and performance of the application portfolio by identifying system bottlenecks and opportunities for process improvements. Communicate complex functional and technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, and external clients/vendors. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Developer, Technical Lead, IT Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Windows; UNIX; Mainframe; Oracle; MS SQL; Sybase; DB2; Cassandra; Mongo DB; PostgreSQL; PL/SQL; UNIX Shell Scripting; SQL; MySQL; C; C++; .NET; YAML Script; Java; Python; Control M; Splunk; Dynatrace; ServiceNow (SNOW); Grafana; Kibana; Abinitio; ZEKE Scheduler; Wily Introscope; WebSphere; Jboss; Tomcat; Apache; IBM MQ; Kafka; Docker; Kubernetes; Cloud Technology; Putty; setting up Splunk alerting and monitoring; building monitoring dashboards through Dynatrace; triage application performance using Dynatrace; cloud platforms such as AWS; Pivotal cloud foundry; network topologies, loading balancing concepts, and content delivery network; and job schedulers including Zeke, Control M , and Abnitio Control Center.

Job Location: 1111 Polaris Pkwy, Columbus, OH 43240. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
