Application Support Developer, Lead
A technical leader for the team that is responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance, and enhancement of existing technologies that enable the company’s business goals and competitive position. Prioritize and execute bugfixes and application modifications as part of an agile team that address important business problems through systems and data integration. Serve as an active participant and leader in continuously maintaining our applications and enabling agility within our business. Interact and lead the daily development activities of our support team consisting of on-site, domestic, and offshore individuals with the goal of establishing a discipline of continuous value delivery on a regular cadence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in and help lead a Scrum team, focusing on the troubleshooting, maintenance, optimization, and enhancement of integral internal business applications.
- Collaborate with business analysts, subject matter experts, and other team members to design and execute modifications to current applications.
- Collaborate with the team and broader IT organization in introducing, architecting, and advancing our automation practice(s) focusing on testing, building, and deployment.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve identified issues in our current application suite, providing technical expertise and extensive solutioning skills to enable the desired business outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Comprehensive and demonstrable development skills and experience utilizing Java and several popular libraries at a senior level.
- Extensive SQL experience and expertise (PL/SQL and Oracle technologies preferred).
- Must be comfortable working in and managing multiple system environments (Linux & Windows).
- Capability and willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in software development serving a variety of roles and demonstrating increased leadership capabilities.
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent technical field and/or equivalent demonstrable experience in an enterprise level professional setting.
- Proven ability to be flexible and motivated, work well both independently and as part of a team, and possessing the passion and aptitude for technical leadership.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other application development areas to define standards and manage change.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals with varying levels of technical understanding and varying skillsets.
- Exposure and professional experience with deploying applications in production environments both with and without automation tools (CircleCI, Jenkins, etc.)
- ETL creation and maintenance experience is a plus (Pentaho).
