Analyst, Medical Risk Evaluation

The Integrated Kidney Care (IKC) analytics team supports DaVita IKC, the population health management division of DaVita serving end stage renal disease (ESRD) and late stage chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients across the U.S. A key component of DaVita’s integrated care strategy is our IKC analytics team, responsible for developing and communicating advanced data analytics to inform the design and deployment of our care model.

As a Medical Risk Evaluation Analyst, you will be responsible for performing financial analysis, forecasting, and population health analyses to support DaVita’s risk-based integrated care programs for chronically ill patients. You will apply your technical skills, critical thinking, and problem solving to build reporting and analytics using available data sets to pull and aggregate data, synthesize findings, and effectively communicate results. Successful candidates will demonstrate knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts, ability to use visualization tools to create reporting for various audiences, and strong problem solving skills.

The Medical Risk Evaluation Analyst will work with teammates across various teams ranging from analyst and data scientists, to clinicians and operators, to executive leaders. The environment is highly collaborative and team oriented with a differential focus on both professional and personal growth.

Essential Function:

• Supporting DaVita IKC operations and strategy with financial forecasts and analysis and preparing timely and accurate monthly and annual reporting

• Using creativity and strong quantitative skills to improve DaVita IKC’s financial and population health reporting tools
• Guiding operational and clinical decision-making using population health data to support patients with chronic kidney disease and end-stage kidney disease
• Effectively communicating quantitative and financial insights to a wide range of teammates, including executives, operational leaders, and clinicians
• Developing expertise in Medicare Advantage, CMS Innovation Center, and other forward-thinking value-based care models
• Gain knowledge of healthcare concepts, including a robust understanding of ESRD and CKD, claims and billing guidelines, and fundamentals of integrated care
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field
• 1-3 years of experience with SQL and relational databases
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Experience using data to create ad-hoc or regular reporting
• Familiarity with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Outstanding problem-solving skills to break down sophisticated problems into digestible pieces
• A tenacity to drive project outcomes and deliver results
• Effective verbal and written communications; adjusts to fit the audience and the message

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
