Spine Institute of Central Florida is seeking experienced Registered Nurses looking for a new PRN opportunity to work in a fast-paced, professional Orthopaedic Spine Surgery center. This position requires collaborating with surgeons, mid-level providers and patients by providing expert care and service in our Ambulatory Surgical Center.
Job Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems, both pre and post operatively
- Perform initial preoperative assessments, appropriate charting and monitoring, as well as carrying out appropriate plans of care
- Provide comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members
- Communicate effectively to both patient as well as family members regarding the surgical process
- Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation
- Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed by our orthopaedic surgeons
- Provide patient education as directed by our orthopaedic surgeons
Requirements:
- Active RN license in state of Florida
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- 2-3 years clinical experience in Operating/Procedure Room and/or PACU
- Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
- Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and Electronic Health Record
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment and professionalism at all times
- Ability to communicate accurately and concisely to medical team, patient, and patient family
Experience:
- Experience working in Ambulatory Surgical Center Setting, 2 years (Preferred)
- EMR systems, 1 year (Preferred)
- Surgical RN, 2 years
