Imperial Events Security Services (IESS) is currently accepting applications for the position of Airport Security Guard. Our Security Guards are the face of our organization and are dedicated to providing outstanding customer service to the attendees, and guests of the many events and venues we secure. Airport Security Guards achieve their objective by being knowledgeable in the their duties and responsibilities while assigned various posts at the Philadelphia International Airport complex. Airport Security Guards are required to be on time, in uniform, and attentive during their entire shift. Successful Security Guards are capable of handling uniquely challenging situations with a calm, professional demeanor. They are also capable of performing their duties in all types of environments including different weather types. Airport Security Guards must be able to self-supervise and have the ability to be organized and detail-oriented.
This position is 24 hours per week permanent with the ability to fulfill additional hours in a flex capacity.
Transportation to/from the Philadelphia International Airport complex is required.
This is a Union position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Airport Security Guards may be asked to perform several essential functions at their assigned location. The list below is not meant to be an exhaustive list of essential functions.
- Greet and interact with workers and travelers in an upbeat, friendly, and personable manner
- Stand at assigned post and maintain a level of alertness and awareness to the surroundings
- Patrol the facility on foot as directed by the supervisor
- Be responsible for access control to sensitive areas
- Respond to, report, and document any incidents or issues of which they become aware
- Provide outstanding customer service to everyone you come into contact with during each and every shift
- Be able to properly wear their assigned company uniform
- Be on time and prepared to complete each and every shift
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend all required trainings and meetings as directed by the supervisor
- Adequately handle, report, and document all security issues and emergency situations at your location
- Be able and willing to become certified in site-specific trainings
- Be able to effectively communicate via two-way radio device
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Must have at least a high school diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Must have a clean criminal history
- Must be drug-free
- Must be able and willing to obtain a SIDA card (coordinated by employer)
- Must have a flexible schedule which includes working some nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to stand for an entire shift (up to 12 hours)
- Must have at least 1 year experience in the security, customer service, or hospitality fields
- Neat and professional appearance
- Upbeat, friendly, and personable demeanor
- Must be able to handle urgent situations with calm and poise
