Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
- This individual will perform maintenance, repairs, and alterations on PT6 engines and King Air airplanes.
DUTIES:
- Perform general to complex maintenance tasks on assigned aircraft and related systems. This shall include, but not limited to items such as removal and installation of panels and components, repair work, and sheet metal repair or installation.
- Perform Aircraft Mechanic duties that require an advanced level of knowledge, training of junior level technicians or troubleshooting repairs.
- Remove and replace engines, troubleshoot, and repair engine malfunctions and perform engine borescope inspections. Removes engine from aircraft or installs engine, using hoist or forklift truck.
- Inspect engines, engine sections, accessories. Tests engine and system operations, using testing equipment, and listens to engine sounds to detect and diagnose malfunctions.
- Services and maintains aircraft systems by performing tasks, including, but not limited to flushing crankcase, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
- Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, functional components, and parts, such as wings and fuselage, rigging, and hydraulic units.
- Disassembles, and or modifies aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, engineering orders and technical publications.
- Reads and interprets aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Adjusts, aligns, and calibrates aircraft systems, using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
- Maintain and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling when required.
- Work independently on projects when required
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- HS diploma or equivalent
- An FAA Airframe and Powerplant license required.
- 5 years' experience with PT6 systems maintenance
- Must demonstrate knowledge of OEM manuals.
- Must be a US Citizen

- Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.

- Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
- May be required to lift, up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
- May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
- Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
- Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
- Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
- May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, APU, etc.
Environmental Factors:
- Work in an inside/outside environment to include working around machinery, objects, vehicles, ladders, and scaffolds.
- Excessive noise and vibration that can be intermittent or constant.
- Environmental conditions can include but not limited to dust, silica, asbestos, fumes, smoke, gas, solvents such as degreasing agents, grease, oils, and electrical energy
- Working on slippery or uneven surfaces
- Working closely with others or working alone
- Possible protracted or irregular hours of work as needed or required.
