Your Responsibilities
As a Product Managerfor the Air Seeding Business in Moline, IL you will lead the product vision, definition, and delivery for John Deere’s groundbreaking next generation of air seeders. You will deeply understand the needs of customers, define and prioritize problems and solutions in assigned value streams and products, and will be ultimately responsible for success of said products. - Own the product from definition to delivery through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Definition to include features, volumes, pricing, target markets, and product evolution, ensuring we are delivering the right product.
- Plan and coordinate customer focus groups, customer advisor groups, dealer advisor groups, and customer visits in order to capture customer needs and gather first-hand feedback from customers and channel partners.
- Leverage tools to document customer needs and communicate to cross functional teams.
- Partner with engineering to prioritize the value creating features, validate the product can create that value, and articulate that to customers.
- Partner with Product Marketing to validate the product and product messaging with the market (field, dealers, customers) through customer advisor groups, customer focus groups, dealer advisor groups, and customer visits.
- Coordinate value stream backlog grooming and planning/demo events across entire Air Seeding Product Management team.

What Skills You Need
- Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution
- 1 or more years of field experience with regular customer contact, and broad product knowledge
- Knowledge of Air Seeding Products, customers, markets and competitors
- 1 or more years of Marketing or Product Management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, negotiation, and conflict resolution with proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%
What Makes You Stand Out
- Small Grains Agronomy and/or technical product experience in Air Seeding
- 1 or more years of business case development experience
- 1 or more years of experience with precision agriculture tools
- Understanding of market segmentation and retail distribution systems
- 1 or more years of experience working with cross-functional, global teams
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Technology, Agricultural Sciences, Agronomy, Marketing, or equivalent discipline
