Open Doors for Multicultural Families (ODMF) is a nonprofit-charitable organization dedicated to ensuring that diverse families of loved ones with developmental/intellectual disabilities and special health care needs have equal access to culturally appropriate information, resources, and services.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Program Assistant supports the Advocacy and Civic Engagement (ACE) Program Manager and staff in meeting program deliverables according to program objectives. They work effectively in cross-cultural communication settings to support staff, families and individuals. The Program Assistant must be comfortable with computers, general office tasks, be detailed oriented, and excel at both verbal and written communication, often with people of diverse languages, cultures and abilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General
· Provide administrative support to ACE Program Manager including but not limited to calendar, scheduling, verbal, and electronic communications. Maintaining high levels of confidentiality with verbal and written communications.
· Attend meetings in place of the ACE Program Manager; then provide detailed notes and key observations.
· Work collaboratively with the ACE Program staff and provide individualized support as directed by supervisor.
· Create correspondence, reports, documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
· Assist ACE Program in implementing contract deliverables
· Assist in developing project plans and setting goals, which include the use of project management tools.
· Assist in the coordination of ODMF events.
· Advocate for the best interests of clients and families of loved ones with disabilities of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds to be included in mainstream service delivery systems.
· Work collaboratively with outside agencies and ODMF team members to fulfill project related responsibilities.
· Attend project-related, community, funder, and stakeholder meetings as assigned by supervisor.
· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Administrative
· Work with ACE Program Manager and staff to monitor, evaluate and improve program quality to meet clients and families’ needs most effectively.
· Assist in inputting, maintaining, and monitoring accurate and up-to-date data and files, including in ODMF database, for complete and timely reporting.
· Maintain confidentiality of staff, client and families’ information.
· Arrange interpreters and/or translating professionals to ensure program information is available in required languages.
· Attend program, staff meetings and trainings as determined by supervisor.
· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
· Ability to fulfill all responsibilities listed above.
·Associates Degree
Must be extremely organized.
· Previous experience in coordinating projects and/or events
· Previous experience in project management and development
· Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
· Must be comfortable navigating technology and online platforms such as Microsoft 365 including Microsoft TEAMS, Salesforce, Trello, etc.
· Strong personal commitment to equity and progressive social, racial, and economic justice for people with disabilities
· Must be mission-driven, persistent, and diligent.
· Strong verbal and written English communication skills; second language proficiency a plus.
· Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
· Associates Degree or equivalent education and relevant life experience
· Proven ability as an effective communicator and strong advocate for people with disabilities and their families
· Track record of respect for others’ experiences, opinions, language, values, culture, and knowledge
· Demonstrated commitment and ability to collaborate while working in highly diverse environment.
· Available for flexible work hours (some evenings and weekends if needed for program activities)
· Able to commute to and provide services in King County and others
· Reliable Transportation and a valid WA state driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
· Ability to pass DSHS criminal background check

COMPENSATION
- Full Time, $18.98-$20.80 per hour
