Position: Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatric/Mental Health)

Position Description:
As the Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, you will provide the full scope of services under licensure and training not limited to diagnosis and evaluations, treatment (prescribing medications), coordination of care, preventative care and crisis mental health evaluation/stabilization. This position should have specialty training and certification in (or willing to obtain) mental health and Medication Assisted Treatment for opioid addiction. The ARNP is responsible for following all documentation requirements including entering accurate and timely information into the electronic health record. This includes any collaboration with or to other providers.
This position will promote member shared decision making, including necessary on-going communication with other team members to deliver the best care possible to promote health and progress for all clients. This could be providing evidenced based medical and mental health care, crisis management, health psychoeducation for client and their families and other services deemed necessary for patient care.
The ARNP is an exempt, salaried position that is in the Elevate office providing onsite services. Hours of operation are Monday thru Thursday 8am to 7pm and Fridays 8 am to 5pm. Assigned hours to be discussed during interview. This position reports directly to the project director with clinical oversight by the Medical Director.
Job Description:
- Provide psychiatric evaluations, crisis evaluations, diagnostic workups, appropriate medication management, education, documentation, case consultation, and treatment planning with team members to advance an integrated model of care.
- Coordinate services with referral sources and other community resources.
- Complete all documentation for patient record accurately and timely
- Advocate for patients and families and promote healthy recovery in mental health and substance use addiction.
- Maintain professional, personal, and emotional balance through continuous self-examination, supervision and feedback.
- Provide consultation and education to clinical and therapy staff.
- Conducts mental health histories and assessments
- Formulates mental health treatment plan and manages acute and chronic mental health needs.
- Examines clients to determine general physical condition, following standard medical procedures
- Organizes data concerning client’s family, medical history, and onset of symptoms obtained from clients, relatives, and other sources
- Order laboratory and other special diagnostic test and evaluates data obtained
- Administers medications and therapeutic agents, necessary to implement a treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitation regimen ordered by and within the scope of licensure.
- Promote and actively engage in the integrated healthcare system model including and not limited to case reviews at weekly clinic meeting, weekly meetings with the overseeing medical director reviewing complex cases, and court committals.
- Oversight, understanding and management of the Medication Assisted treatment program for those with opioid addiction with collaboration with the substance use counselors
- Manages EHR responsibilities to colleagues when appropriate, and responds to messages (e.g. lab results, refills, patient calls, patient messages, co-sign orders, co-sign charts, and open charts) in timely manner according to CCBHC policies and procedures as well as CARF and Chapter 24 guidelines.
- Assures all clinical activities are accomplished according to acceptable guidelines for reimbursement
- Works with care team and case management to provide for coordinated delivery of case management services.
- Be available for walk in crisis evaluations if needed
- Other duties as assigned by project director

Qualifications:
· Current Professional License to practice as a Licensed Nurse practitioner in the State of Iowa or a Psychiatric Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the State of Iowa required. Maintain CME requirements
· Board Certification is required
· Certification/Training as Medication Assisted Treatment prescriber or willing to complete certification within 6 months of employment.
· DEA & Controlled Substance license upon beginning of employment at the CCBHC
· Two (2) years of working experience with clients with mental health needs, complex behaviors and crisis
· Knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, and standards relative to quality assurance, safety and infection control required
· Electronic Health Records competency
