If this description speaks to you, continue reading about the opportunity of Admissions Office Coordinator. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position located at St. John’s Home.
Position Summary: The Admissions Office Coordinator is responsible to provide support to a fast-paced Admissions Office answering phones, scheduling and providing tours, being a point person for potential admissions, as well as providing computer support. Responsibilities include:
- Answer incoming calls on multiple lines.
- Respond to all phone, online or in-person requests for information, or route to the appropriate person.
- Complete initial phone screening of potential applicants and referrals.
- Communicate documentation needs for admissions to hospitals, SNF’s, community care managers, families etc.
- Send applications and admission information to via email, DocuSign or USPS mail, as requested.
- Schedule and provide tours for prospective residents and their families.
- Greet and assist all visitors to the Welcome Center.
- Inspect open rooms for needed repairs, cleaning and/or furniture needs; create work orders and communicate regularly with Environmental and Building Services teams.
- Input new admission information for rehabilitation and long-term care residents into EMR.
- Prepare all rehabilitation and long-term care admission documents.
- Update EMR as needed after admission documents are completed; Upload signed documents.
- Update required spreadsheets regarding admissions, referrals, room availability, room readiness etc.
- Communicate with clinical staff regarding scheduled tours and admissions.
- Order office supplies.
- Educate family and community inquiries on St. John’s spectrum of services.
Qualifications:
- Two years’ experience in a health care setting, with previous experience in admissions coordination preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills a must.
- The ideal candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have strong computer skills, the ability to multitask and a high degree of initiative.
- A strong desire to understand and support the older adult population are keys for success in this position.
