Job Description
The Admissions Director for Birchwood Rehabilation and Healthcare Center plays a crucial role in managing the admissions process and ensuring a seamless transition for residents and their families. This position requires a combination of interpersonal skills, organizational prowess, and a deep understanding of healthcare regulations. The Admissions Director acts as a liaison between the nursing home, residents, families, and medical professionals to facilitate a positive and efficient admission experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Admissions Process Management: Oversee the entire admissions process, from initial inquiry to resident move-in. Review and evaluate prospective resident applications, medical records, and care needs to determine eligibility and appropriate placement within the nursing home.
Collaborate with medical staff, social workers, and care teams to assess potential residents' medical histories, current conditions, and care requirements.
Communication and Coordination: Establish effective communication with prospective residents, families, and medical professionals to provide accurate information about the nursing home's services, policies, and procedures. Act as the primary point of contact for families, addressing their concerns, answering questions, and providing emotional support during the transition process.
Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all required admission documents, medical records, consent forms, and insurance information are accurately completed and filed.
Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, including state and federal laws, related to the admission and documentation processes.
Financial Coordination: Collaborate with the finance department to explain financial obligations, payment options, insurance coverage, and billing procedures to families and residents.
Transition Support:
Arrange for necessary medical equipment, supplies, and medications to be available upon resident arrival.
Facilitate communication between residents, families, and care staff to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of care.
Marketing and Outreach: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the nursing home's services and facilities to potential residents and referral sources.
Attend community events, healthcare fairs, and conferences to increase awareness of the nursing home and build professional relationships with healthcare providers.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare admissions, social work, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.

Physical Demands:
