Required Qualifications:The candidate must have some post-secondary education. Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and the ability to communicate well in English.
The candidate must have the ability to interact well with students, faculty and staff; a cooperative attitude. The candidate must be flexible, have an attention to detail, and must be able to work some evenings and weekends. The candidate must have one-year general office experience. The candidate must have good keyboarding, word processing, database management, data entry and clerical skills. The candidate must have sound judgment, organizational skills, and a customer service orientation.
Must be able to demonstrate the Morton College core values of compassion, fairness, respect, responsibility, tolerance and truth.
Previous work in a college setting, preferably in Admissions, Registrar’s or Records department. Some knowledge of Colleague reporting system. Able to take initiative and implement.
Job Summary:The Admissions and Records Clerk I will provide general information and assistance to students, faculty and staff. The Admissions and Records Clerk I will coordinate admissions files, including processing of applications for admission, preparing health career program correspondence, and organizing student transcripts and test scores. The Admissions and Records Clerk I will assist with various registration and Records management functions, and other job-related duties as assigned by the Registrar. Job responsibilities of the Admissions and Records Clerk I may change as the need of the college arises.
Specific Job Duties:- Coordinate admissions files by assigned caseload, including processing of applications for admission and student correspondence.
- Ensure student transcripts are filed accurately and inputted into system.
- Process prospective student correspondence.
- Routinely review and purge files according to the departmental policy.
- Assist the department with various recruitment events.
- Assist with other record maintenance activities as may be required.
- Assist with student registration activities as may be required.
- Maintain daily schedule including phone and coverage of registration counter as assigned.
- Assist with data entry, filing and other office functions as may be required.
- To perform other responsibilities and duties assigned.
