This is a non-exempt position.
Position Summary:
- Work with internal customers to prepare and distributing export container documentation
- Continual communication with the sales division and steamship line regarding documentation accuracy, requirements, and timeliness is necessary
- Responsibility to comment on US export requirements and report individual exports to US Customs/Census
- Review contracted freight rates against freight invoices issued for freight payment reconciliation
- Process freight invoices and build relations with accounts payable staff.
- Advise on known country requirements necessary for customs clearance at destination
- Analytical thinking, have problem-solving ability, well organized and possess the memory skills to retain situations along with the thought process to act with self-direction
- Bachelor Degree or minimum of 1-2 years of experience equivalent and prevalent to the position based on description required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) required
- Ability to hear and speak clearly; read, comprehend and communicate, orally and in writing in order to effectively communicate in person or by phone
- Standing, filing, bending, kneeling, keyboarding operations, sitting for extended periods of time and working on the telephone
- Knowledge of ADM systems (i.e., IMS and CICS) and the Internet preferred
