The Position:
Applications are currently being accepted for Administrative Technician in the Equity Department (LEAD), located at Miramar College. Hours are Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
  • Working collaboratively with the Leading Equity, Anti-Racism and Diversity (LEAD) Office and various departments to engage the campus in the development and implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives;
  • Provide administrative and technical support to the Dean and other employees within the department, and assist in the formulation and preparation of operational policies and procedures;
  • May serve as a liaison between the Dean and all levels of academic and classified professionals, representatives from government and community agencies, private business, industry, and the general public; promote and maintain positive staff relations and good public relations with the community;
  • Oversee the day-to-day functions of the LEAD Office and provide work direction and training to other LEAD classified professionals;
  • Support the development of student programming in alignment with campus DEI objectives;
  • Assist with any meeting support needs to include: agendas, minutes, outlook invites, communication reminders and/or updates, room reservations, and technology set-up;
  • Compile, prepare, monitor, audit, and analyze expenditures related to payroll, purchasing, and contracts in connection to budgets and grants;
  • Conduct research and analyses of a paraprofessional nature; coordinate, plan, and organize special studies regarding student success, diversity, equity, inclusion, and compile reports utilizing a variety of computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases;
  • Prepare a variety of correspondence, memos, and reports; maintain a variety of complex and inter-related records and files. Review and proof documents, records, and forms for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to applicable rules and regulations. Prepare information for Board docket items and statewide reports;
  • Maintain department website, social media, and correspondence;
  • Serve on campus and district committees, workgroups, an taskforce as needed;
  • Attend state, local, regional meetings and workshops;
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide administrative and technical support to a service unit in an educational setting and ability to work collaboratively with other faculty, administrators, and classified professionals in departments such as Outreach, Counseling, Research, and instructional programs;
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee the day-to-day office functions in an educational setting;
  • Demonstrated experience with student success, guided pathways, and equity frameworks;
  • Demonstrated experience with equity-minded and culturally responsive educational practices;
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply, and assist with the implementation of rules, regulations, and guidelines;
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze data and reports and assist with operational plans and services;
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and assist with the management and planning of budgets;
  • Willingness to participate in a variety of departmental and campus activities;
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining websites, social media, and correspondence/marketing materials;
  • Evidence of a commitment to supporting traditionally underserved students and communities;
  • Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff

Pay Information:
Range 22 ($5,543.90-$6,603.50) per month based on the current Classified salary schedule. New employees will begin on Step G ($5,543.90). Step placement is non-negotiable. Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the CBA. This position is FLSA Non-exempt (may accrue overtime). Excellent Benefits are provided to all Contract employees with assignments greater than, or equal to, 50% (0.50 FTE) and all eligible dependents. A temporary probationary period will apply to the employee entering this assignment.
